What to Know
- Go to the site and select Settings (gear icon) > Internet Options > General > Use current to set the open website as your home page.
- To add multiple home pages, select the text box, and then add the URLs for the other websites on separate lines.
- Select Apply > OK to save your changes. At any time, go to General > Use default to restore the original Microsoft default home page.
This article explains how to change your Internet Explorer home page so that you can access any website of your choice when you select the Home icon. You can also have multiple home pages that open in separate tabs. These instructions apply to Internet Explorer 11. If you use an older version, you can update Internet Explorer for free.
How to Change the Home Page for Internet Explorer 11
To set a new home page or multiple home pages for IE 11:
Open the website you want to set as your new home page, and then select the Settings gear in the upper-right corner.
Choose Internet Options.
Under the General tab, select Use current to set the open website as your home page.
If you select Use new tab, selecting the Home icon opens a new blank tab. You can also choose Use default to restore the original Microsoft default home page.
To add multiple home pages, select the text box, and then add the URLs for the other websites on separate lines.
Alternatively, select Start with tabs from the last session to restore recently closed tabs the next time you launch Internet Explorer.
Select Apply, then select OK.
How to Access the Home Page in IE 11
The home page is the website that opens when you launch Internet Explorer. To access your home page at any time, select the Home icon in the upper-right corner of Internet Explorer.
